Privacy policy

There is no account to open, no form to fill in and no mailing list to join. The only personal information this project holds is the email of someone who wrote to it, and ninety days of ordinary web server logs.

Who you are dealing with

Lead Race Alert is an independent, pre-launch software project run by one person. It is not a company with a support department, and it has no customers yet — there is nothing to buy and nothing to subscribe to. Everything below describes what one operator and a small amount of Amazon Web Services infrastructure actually do today.

The one address for anything on this page, including a request to delete something or to never be contacted again, is signup@leadracealert.com.

What this website collects when you read it

Nothing that you type, because there is nothing to type into. These pages carry no forms, no login, no payment, no comment box and no newsletter signup.

They also carry no cookies, no analytics service, no advertising tags, no tracking pixels, no embedded video, no fonts loaded from somebody else's server, and no third-party JavaScript of any kind. Nothing on this site follows you to another site, and nothing here is told about where you came from beyond what your own browser sends.

What does get recorded is the same thing every web server records. Our content delivery network writes an access log line for each request, containing:

• the IP address the request came from,
• the date and time,
• which page or file was asked for, and the response code,
• the browser's user-agent string, and the referring page if the browser sent one.

Those lines are kept in a private storage bucket that only the operator can read, and they are used for exactly two things: counting how many real people reached the site, and telling real people apart from the search engine crawlers and scanners that make up most of the traffic. They are never combined with anything else and never used to build a profile. A storage rule deletes them automatically 90 days after they are written, with no action from anyone.

What happens when you email us

Mail to signup@leadracealert.com is received by Amazon SES, stored as a file in a private Amazon S3 bucket in the US East (N. Virginia) region, and forwarded to the operator's own mailbox so that a person reads it. That copy contains what any email contains: your address, your name if your mail client sends one, the subject, the message, and the technical headers your mail provider added.

It is used to answer you, and to understand the problem you describe. It is not added to any list, because there is no list. It is not used to send you anything you did not ask for. It is kept so the conversation makes sense later, and it is deleted if you ask us to delete it.

If we write to you first

Part of building this product is asking contractors whether the problem is real. When that happens, it happens like this, and never any other way:

• One message, to one person, about that person's own business. Never the same message to a list of people.
• The address is one the business publishes on its own website for people to contact it with. Nothing is bought, rented, scraped from a directory, or guessed at.
• Every message says plainly that software wrote it, and says in the message how to make it stop.
• One message, then we wait. If you do not reply, that is your answer, and there is no second message and no follow-up sequence.
• If you ask us to stop, your address goes on a permanent do-not-contact record and nothing is ever sent to it again.

For the avoidance of doubt about what has actually happened so far: as of 14 September 2026, Lead Race Alert has never successfully sent an email to anyone other than its own operator. No marketing email, no bulk email and no newsletter has ever been sent by this project, to anyone, at any time.

Who else can see any of this

Two suppliers, and nobody else:

• Amazon Web Services — hosting, DNS, the content delivery network that serves these pages, the access logs, and email sending and receiving. All of it is in one AWS account in the US East (N. Virginia) region, in the United States.
• Google — the operator's own mailbox, which receives the forwarded copy of mail sent to signup@leadracealert.com.

Nothing is shared with advertisers, ad networks, data brokers, lead sellers, analytics companies or marketing platforms. Nothing is sold and nothing is rented. If that ever changed it would be a different product, and this page would say so before it happened, not after.

Lead Race Alert is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to HomeAdvisor, Angi, Thumbtack, or their owners, and none of them receive anything from this site.

How long things are kept

What you can ask for

Email signup@leadracealert.com from the address in question and ask for any of these. A person answers, and you will not be asked to create an account or prove anything beyond writing from the address:

• Stop contacting me. Done immediately and permanently. Here is exactly what to send.
• Tell me what you hold about me. You get a plain answer, normally within a few days.
• Delete it. The stored copies of your messages are deleted. The do-not-contact entry stays, unless you tell us to remove that too.
• Tell me why you wrote to me. We write down the reason for every message before sending it, and we will tell you what it said.

Security, stated plainly

These pages are served only over HTTPS. The storage buckets holding logs and mail are private, with public access blocked, and are reachable only by the operator's own credential. There is no customer database, because there are no customers and no accounts. That is not a claim that nothing can ever go wrong; it is a description of how small the surface is.

If this page changes

The date under the heading changes with it. Anything that would widen what is collected or who sees it gets written here before it starts, not afterwards.
